What is the difference between OHE Clear and Varnish?
Both OHE Clear and Varnish have supreme abrasion resistance and offer superior protection. OHE Clear strength is apparent much sooner but the Varnish can be worked longer so it is especially good for decoupage. Although both are non-yellowing, the Varnish has a clearer cast due to the crystal-clear resin. OHE Clear has an enamel-like resin that is slightly amber-cast. It should not yellow a piece but a slight change could be noticed when applying over bright white. OHE is available in a semi-gloss whereas Varnish is not. The Varnish is easier to sand. The OHE formula cures so fast, that there is generally a very short opportunity to sand this finish. Clear OHE has superior water ring resistance compared to the Varnish.
